One Weigh at a Time and Fitness Friday

One Weigh at a Time

It's that time of the week again! Weigh in Day! So my results for this week: I was 182.6 last week and this week.... 180.8! 1.8 pounds down, just shy of my 2 pound goal for the week. Not bad :)
Hope everyone else is doing well. I feel my clothes getting looser and I am making way better food choices than before. And I have not touched soda except for having some ginger ale this week when I got hit by a stomach bug. Sometimes we  have to look at our non-scale victories too! Do you have any non-scale related victories for this week? Please share.

Book Review- A Gift Of Grace- Blog Tour

I received a copy of A Gift of Grace by Amy Clipston to review as part of a blog tour from Blog Tour Spot (you can find other participants here.)

This book was a nice change of pace for me. It is book one in a series about an Amish family. In this first book, the plot is centered on an Amish woman and her husband who have to take in her two teenage nieces after her sister and brother in law die in a car accident. The girls did not grow up in the Amish community so they have a hard time adjusting to the new lifestyle.

The author did a good job of transporting the reader into the Amish world. We see the struggle of the older niece who does not like the new lifestyle and I really felt for her. I loved all the character developments and can't wait to see what happens to the rest of the family as the series progresses.

A nice bonus that was added to the book was the Amish recipes! I can't wait to try some of them!
