A few weeks ago I posted my before and after shots after my dramatic haircut. Julia wanted a haircut similar to mine so we took her and Jr. for haircuts today at this great place called Lulu's Cuts for Kids! This is the third time we have taken them there and I really like the vibe! They put them in these cool chairs that are cars and put videos on for them. The place is also a toy store so you are surrounded by balls, trucks, princesses, stuffed animals and books.
Julia got a nice bob cut with bangs. She had enough hair that we are donating her ponytail to Locks of Love. This organization takes donations of hair to make wigs for kids who suffer from hair loss due to cancer and other illnesses. Julia is very excited and happy that we are doing this and so am I.
So here are her before and after shots:

A few good causes...
Soon our kids will be returning to school. We are so blessed that we can provide for our kids and have them prepared by day one of school but not everyone is so fortunate. But with a helping hand I believe we can make a difference and help provide for these families! Check out to causes that will help some families prepare their kids for school in the Fall....
Please check out my friend's e-show! She has an online bookstore with Usborne books. If she has a successful show she earns free books that she is going to donate to some kids in Harlem. Her daughter is an educational coordinator so the books would go to the kids in the organization her daugther works for.
Here is the info and link to her e-show:
You are invited to an Usborne Books eShow to explore the world of Usborne Books. A child's interest in reading and learning is stimulated by the lavish illustrations and informative content. It's a rewarding experience when a child opens a book and discovers the magic of reading.
Also if you are in the New York area- Christ Tabernacle is holding a backpack drive called Operation Backpack. It's to donate filled backpacks to kids in the area who are in need of school supplies. Last year the church was able to donate around 900 backpacks. Of course the goal is to top that number this year! Please go to www.christtabernacle.com for more information! Also check out this article about how this impacted one family last year: http://jeremydelrio.com/blog/2008/06/04/why-adopt-schools-a-parent-reports/

Weigh in Wednesday
I gained 2 pounds! I went from 171 to 173!!! But I have not done any Wii Fit and I've fallen off the wagon and started drinking soda and eating sweets again :(
Also me and Joey are in competition for the klutz award!!! I messed up my back and knee carrying both boys down the stairs. Plus somehow I cut my ring finger trying to catch the cutlery holder that was falling off my dish rack. It was a small, deep cut and now my ring finger is so swollen that I can't take my rings off. Then last night to top it all off, I hit the top of my hand on the plastic bracket that holds our baby gate up! This was the opposite hand of the cut and now that hand is swollen (kinda hurts to type right now!)
Poor Joey's injuries have been all ankle related. Last Saturday he twisted his ankle on the front steps of the house as he was leaving to go food shopping. A few days after that he twisted the same ankle again on the same front steps! During the week he has banged the ankle on the gate, hit it against a toy in Julia's room and had it stepped on by each kid at various times!!!!
We are both a mess but I am the only one that gained two pounds. He can eat all the junk he wants and not exercise and still stay slim and muscular! Ugh!!!!
Anyway I am not going to give up! I'm going to get on track!!!
