Wild Olive Tees

Wild Olive Tees

I read about these Tees on Keli's blog and I think these tees are so cool! They are t-shirts with Christian messages. They are very stylish and contemporary and I can't wait to place and order and wear my wild olive tee proudly!

They are holding a contest on their blog, so check it out: I also have a button linked to their shop on my sidebar. Happy shopping!

Daisy Chain book review

"Daisy Chain" by Mary E. Demuth is a coming of age tale about family secrets. It is one of those books that I just could not put down! It centers around the disappearance of a little girl named Daisy. The main character is her best friend, Jed. The story unfolds and you find out the secret his family is hiding while the mystery of this little girl's disappearance is explored.
The book is very honest and hard to read at times because of it's honesty. Jed's father is the pastor of the local church but at home he is a very abusive father and husband. This aspect of the book reminded me of my Mom's childhood. She grew up in a Christian household. Her father was a preacher but her home life was very hard. They would march into church as the perfect family but at home things were very different. After my grandmother passed away we saw a very different side to my grandfather. He became more of a gentle man because of the tragedy he faced in losing the love of his life.
This book did not end in a nice little neat package and I enjoyed that because it left me wanting more. "Daisy Chain" is book 1 in the Defiance, Texas trilogy so I can not wait to read about the other characters we meet in "Daisy Chain". I also hope that Jed and his family are explored further. You can see glimpses of hope through all the pain. Will we see redemption for some of the characters in the future books? I hope so!

Here is a little more information about the book and about the author, Mary E. Demuth:
