Stepping out it faith can be a real challenge but then someone or something will remind you that putting your faith and trust in God will always lead you to the right path. I attended a workshop today for Mary Kay consultants and was very inspired by all the speeches and lessons. One quote that really challenged me today was "Face the fear and do it anyway" and then I read this devotional in my email today when I got home. Talk about great timing!
I have been struggling with confidence issues with many aspects in my life lately. It has been a roller coaster of emotions lately but I am constantly reminded that I need to walk in faith. I feel the direction that I need my life to go in. I know that the hand of God is guiding me for greater things in my life, I just need to get over the fear. It is a state of mind and I can't let it hold me back or handicap me because “I can do everything through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:13:
I created my first goal poster today. I had Julia help me cut out some pictures of specific goals I want to achieve. She had fun helping me and she is working on her on goal poster. The goal poster will help me to visually keep my eyes looking at what I can and will attain if I put in the work that I need to do. I have to stop letting myself get overwhelmed and just do it!
I have also been reading David Tyree's new book, "More Than Just a Catch" and his faith in God has been so inspiring. I can't wait to finish the book so I can post more about it. His testimony is a good example of trusting in God's promises.
So keep remembering that whether it's spiritually, personally or professionally, do not let a negative state of mind handicap you! As one of the ladies at the workshop said today, "God didn't have time to make a nobody, only a somebody!!! "

Pray
Last night I was baptised! It was an amazing experience and I cannot find the words to express the peace that came over me afterwards!!! God is so amazing and I felt completely wrapped in His love and still do.
Please watch the following video "Pray" by Mary Alessi. Now more than ever we need to turn to God in prayer. For our children, the economy, the election, our leaders, our nation... the list goes on and on!!! I hope this video is a blessing to everyone that views it :)

Fall Into Reading 2008
Yesterday was the 1st day of fall. So what better time to start a list of books that I want to read and actually set a goal to read them this Fall! Before mommyhood, I was able to finish a book in a day or two and I was constantly reading! I miss having that time to delve into a great book and I'm hoping committing to this list will help me make time for reading again.
So here is my list:
Non-Fiction
My Mom had lent me this book and I never got to finish it! From what I have read so far it is a great and inspiring book.
More Than Just The Catch by David Tyree
I'm a big fan of David Tyree and the NY Giants and can't wait to read this book. I have a previous post about this particular book.
I receive daily devotionals in my e-mail from this author and can't wait to read this book about the 18 women in the New Testament!
This book is written by the founder of the Women for Hire website. I am always exploring different work from home options and am interested to see what this book has to offer in terms of advice and tips.
Fiction
This is a retelling of the book of Hosea in the Bible. I have been interested in reading this book for awhile and finally ordered it. My cousin said it's a great book!
I have been a fan of Linda Nieves-Powell for a long time. I love reading Latina Chic-Lit so this is a must read for me!
I just found out about these books while doing a search for books to read. Sounds like an interesting concept and it's a series of books so if I get hooked there are plenty of books to read and add to my list!
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett I have never read this classic book! Julia just got it as a birthday gift from a friend of ours. I'm going to finally read it once Julia is finished. She is very excited about this book. It came with a key necklace which she loves to wear. So what is on your list???? Check out Callapidder Days to join in on the fun!
